Evan Rachel Wood

Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on September 7, 1987. Her father, Ira David Wood III (a theatre actor writer, director, actor) is her father. Sara Wood Wood is her mother and is an actress. Her older brothers are Dana Wood, a musician and Ira David Wood IV who also have been actors. Evan as well as her brothers appeared at Theatre In The Park, Raleigh, where her father is the executive director. At the age of five she was screened against Kirsten Dunst to play the lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) following a lengthy audition process. In the year 1996, she relocated to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mom. She has been a prominent character in TV series as well as feature films and TV movies since. Tracy was her character in Practical Magic (1998) and in S1m0ne (2002, Al Pacino's child). Holly Hunter followed with Thirteen (2004). Her breakthrough performance in the role of Tracy in "Thirteen" brought her a Golden Globes nomination and a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination. She was the youngest actress to be nominated for an award for a Leading Role award at the time. For her performance in Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011) which she starred in, she was awarded an Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Her remarkable portrayal of Stephanie Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008) earned her praise. Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Ira David Wood III's younger sister. She is a trained dancer. She enjoys singing, swimming, rollerblade, and go on horseback rides. She is an black belt in Tae do. Keeps in touch with most of her Once and Again (1999) co-stars: Mischa Barton, Julia Whelan as well as Shane West.
