Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born to British parents Jacqueline Luesby, a lawyer as well as Chris Watson, a teacher from Paris, France. At five years old she was moved to Oxfordshire and went to Dragon School. As early as the age of six, Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress and, for a period of years, she studied at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a part-time theater school where she studied singing, dancing and acting. When she was ten, she had performed and played the lead in numerous Stagecoach productions and school productions. The casting process began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone 2001 the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling book. Emma was approached by casting agents by her Oxford theater teacher. After eight auditions David Heyman informed Emma and Rupert Grint that they were selected to play Hermione Granger as well as Harry Potter. Emma's first screen appearance in a cinema was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). It was the top-grossing film of 2001and broke records in terms of opening day sales as well as opening-weekend performances. Film critics praised the film as well as the performances of the three leading young actors. The highly distributed British newspaper The Daily Telegraph has praised her performance as "admirable". Later, Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film. She was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Young Actress in the feature Film. Emma was a star after the success of the debut film of the series. For a total of ten years, she played the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone 2001, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 (2010) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011). Emma was awarded two Critics' Choice Awards nominations from the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
