Will Ferrell
Will Ferrell
rose to fame as a part of the cast of "Saturday Night Live," before
appearing in such large-screen comedies such as 'Elf"Anchorman,"
"Talladega Nights.' Born in 1967 in Irvine, California, Will Ferrell began
his career in comedy when he was an actor with the improv troupe based in Los
Angeles, the Groundlings. Following his seven years as a Saturday Night Life
cast member, Ferrell was one of the most popular comedic actors in the industry
with off-color hit films like Old School (2003) or Anchorman: The Legend of Ron
Burgundy (2004). Ferrell was also a co-founder of the streaming site Funny or
Die and enjoyed success voice acting in animated films like Megamind (2010).
John William Ferrell, born on July 16, 1967, in Irvine, California. Will
Ferrell is the oldest child of Righteous Brothers keyboardist Lee Ferrell (and
Kay Ferrell), however, he wasn't exactly a school clown while he was in
University High School. He was calm and reserved and he opted to be a football
player who set a school record for the most field goals made. Even in the more
comfortable confines of his suburban home, Ferrell displayed little of the
outrageous, funny bursts that would eventually to define his career. "Very
even-tempered, and very comfortable," his mother recalled in an interview
with Esquire. "You are familiar with those tiny Matchbox cars? Will will
line up his Matchbox cars on his own and be completely content. You'd ask, 'Do
you want to visit Disneyland today, or line up your cars?' He'd need to think
about it. Ferrell was not an ideal straight man but that's not to say he was
not. One of Ferrell's comedy abilities was seen every day at school when he
disguised himself and announced the day's events over the PA system. Ferrell
was a graduate in 1986 and attended the University of Southern California in
Los Angeles. There he joined Delta Tau fraternity to pursue an education as a
sports reporter.
